Identify the material precisely

Procurement starts with unambiguous identification: the full compound name, the labeled quantity, the format, and the research classification. Product listings should state these clearly so a purchaser knows exactly what is being acquired before an order is placed.

Require batch-linked documentation

Where analytical documentation is available, it should be tied to the specific lot supplied. Batch traceability — matching the lot number on the vial to the Certificate of Analysis — is what makes a purchase defensible and reproducible. Keep in mind the limits of a COA: it documents what was tested, not blanket suitability.

Understand purchaser responsibilities

RUO materials are intended for qualified researchers and institutions conducting lawful research. The purchaser is responsible for determining that a material is appropriate and lawful for the intended application and jurisdiction, and for complying with institutional requirements.
